"Just over a year ago I was in pain. My left hip area would be in pain from sitting! I would stand up at work for a few minutes and then feel a different sort of pain. When I would walk for long periods I would physically trip myself as my left leg would not lift up like my right leg when I took a step. I went to a Doctor who was a specialist in the lower back and hip. He took X-rays and an MRI, and told me, "Ehhh, nothing is going on, you have a little arthritis but nothing that is causing you to have the pain you say you are having." He said my biggest problem were my hamstrings, which were tight as a result of sitting on my ass for at least 8 hours a day and then when I stood up, the hamstrings pull down on my sacrum area which in turn would give me the hip pain I was feeling. He pointed to all the photos of the Pro Athletes who are his patients, he said, "You know Frank, 90% of my patients you see on these walls supplement their workouts with Yoga." That was last April. In May, I took my first yoga class and was pain free for a day, now with regular yoga 3 - 4 times a week either at Ho-Ho-Kus Yoga, or at home, I no longer have hip pain AT ALL!"
